After the Supreme Court’s decision on the B.Ed vs D.El.Ed (BTC) dispute in classes one to five, the way has been cleared for distribution of certificates to the successful candidates in Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP-TET) 2021. Certificates will be sent by the Examination Regulatory Authority office to all the District Education and Training Institutes (DIET) from next week. The result of UPTET held on 23 January 2022 was declared on 8 April 2022.

Of the 11,47,090 candidates who appeared in the primary level examination for classes one to five, 6,91,903 were B.Ed and 4,55,183 D.El.Ed (BTC) degree holders. Of these, 4,43,598 (38.67 or 39 percent) candidates passed. However, before the certificates were distributed, some D.El.Ed candidates had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court on the basis of the decision of the Rajasthan High Court. The High Court had banned the distribution of certificates for primary level TET on 22 May 2022.

Certificates of upper primary level have already been sent for distribution to DIET. The picture regarding primary level TET was not clear. Now that the Supreme Court has made it clear that there is no crisis in the appointment of B.Ed degree holders appointed before August 11, 2023, it has been decided to send the primary level certificates also. According to Secretary, Examination Regulatory Authority, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, primary level TET certificates will be sent for distribution from next week.
