UPSC Prelims Exam: The first stage of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by UPSC is the Prelims Examination. This is a qualifying examination, the marks of which are not added to the final list of UPSC CSE. Know- About UPSC Prelims Exam
First of all, two papers are conducted in UPSC Prelims. These papers are, General Studies Paper – I, General Studies Paper II. It is also known as CSAT or Civil Services Aptitude Test. Both these papers are of 200 marks and in the first 100 questions are asked while in the second 80 questions are asked. UPSC Prelims is conducted in offline mode, in which candidates have to use paper and pen. Let us tell you, in these papers questions related to history, geography, economics, politics, environment, science and current affairs and other subjects are asked. According to the UPSC IAS exam pattern, negative marking of 0.33% marks is also done for each wrong answer. Therefore, candidates will have to be very careful while marking the answers.
