UPSC CSE Prelims: About two and a half months are left for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024. UPSC Prelims Exam 2024 will be conducted on 16 June 2024. This time, 1056 vacancies including 180 vacancies of IAS and 150 vacancies of IPS will be filled through this. Every year around 9 to 10 lakh candidates appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Now that there are two and a half months left for the exam, IFS officer Himanshu Tyagi has shared his preparation strategy on social media platform X. He told which 9 things the candidates should focus more on in the remaining days. Himanshu Tyagi, resident of Dehradun, has passed not only UPSC but also other difficult examinations of the country, GATE and JEE Main.

Indian Forest Service officer Himanshu had secured 69 percent marks in 10th and 90 percent marks in 12th. After this, he cracked JEE Main and Advanced and did B.Tech from IIT Roorkee. During engineering, he topped with 95 percent marks. By securing 6th rank in GATE, he got a government job in Indian Oil Corporation of India. Even after this, if he was not satisfied, he left the job and started preparing for UPSC. In the year 2022, he cracked UPSC in his third attempt.

Himanshu Tyagi told – Pay attention to these 9 things
1. Revise all the basic books 2-3 times. Pay more attention to important chapters.
2. Solve last 15 years question papers twice. Solve the paper in exam like situation. Read the solution. Revise all the topics asked earlier.
3. View papers of exams recently conducted by UPSC. Read GS questions in these papers.
4. Use logical analysis to solve questions and master it. Practice it as much as you can.

5. Be ready with your strategy till the exam day. How many questions do I have to attempt? What will be the speed? How to overcome exam pressure. Solve mock tests and prepare answers to all the questions for yourself.

6. How much time – Now give 100 percent time to the preparation of Prelims exam. Repeat. Solve mock. See solution. Repeat.

7. Prepare a list of essential topics and revise it several times. Like Ramsar sites, UNESCO sites, Tiger reserves, Indian mountains, rivers etc.

8. Solve as many MCQs as possible. You must read the solved MCQs answers. Revise, test and repeat.

9. Don’t ignore the CSAT.
