The protest of competing students has been going on for several days alleging paper leak in the UPPSC RO ARO Recruitment Exam 2023. Late on Friday night, Chairman Sanjay stood in front of the gate of the Commission to meet Srinetra. Contesting students say that evidence is being sent to the Commission on email. Many contestants have emailed with affidavits. The competing students are also ready to provide hardcopy of the evidence along with the affidavit. The Commission has all the resources available for investigation, then why is the Commission delaying in taking a decision regarding cancellation of the examination. The students said that until any decision is taken on this, their agitation will continue.

Commission chairman and staff held hostage
The controversy of paper leak in the Review Officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Preliminary Examination-2023 of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is gaining momentum day by day. The movement of competitive students, who were protesting for the last several days demanding cancellation of the examination, became more intense on Friday. Around 10:30 in the morning, thousands of students gathered in front of the Commission office and the demonstration and sloganeering continued till night. The angry youth closed all the gates of the Commission and forced the Commission members including Chairman Sanjay Srinetra and all the officers and employees to become hostages. The students are adamant on their demand to cancel the examination and conduct re-examination. On the other hand, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress National General Secretary Priyank Gandhi have supported the competitive students’ movement by tweeting on Twitter. Considering the atmosphere, a large number of police and RF personnel were deployed at the Commission. DM and CP reached the commission late at night.

Appeal was made by closing coaching and library
On Thursday, competing students held a mic meeting in the delegations. An appeal was made that by closing coaching and libraries on Friday, students would gather at the Public Service Commission. In this sequence, students started gathering outside the Commission from around 10:30 in the morning. NSUI, Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha, Disha Chhatra Sangathan and many other organizations also came out in support. Within no time thousands of students sat in front of the commission gate. In view of the possibility of uproar, all the gates of the Commission were closed and the police diverted the traffic by placing barricades on the road leading from the Commission Square to Civil Lines Bus Stand. Late at night the Police Commissioner and DM arrived to talk to the students.

Demand for resignation of Commission Chairman
In the 74-day-long agitation on the issue of employment, the Yuva Manch passed a resolution at the protest site at Patthar Church and said that the government should cancel the RO-ARO and constable recruitment examination. Demanded strict action against other culprits including education mafia by conducting re-examination and CBI investigation. The students sent a memorandum to the Governor demanding his intervention in the paper leak issue. Demanded immediate suspension of the Secretary of the Commission and resignation of the Chairman. Rajesh Sachan, Anil Singh, Tejesh Singh, Brahm Sen, Om Prakash etc. were present on this occasion.

Chairman’s wife and daughter came to the Commission late in the evening
The agitation of competing students started at 10.30 in the morning. Contestants are surrounded at all the gates of the Commission. In such a situation, officers and employees were neither able to come out nor go inside the Commission. On getting information about the uproar, at around seven in the evening, the Commission Chairman’s wife and daughter reached the Commission office, and were somehow brought inside by the police.

Police Commissioner and DM arrived at night to talk
At around 1130 pm, Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma and DM Navneet Singh Chahal reached the Commission. Both the officers first talked to the students and then went inside the commission and discussed the matter. Students told that the Deputy Secretary of the Commission said that the investigation of the matter is going on, at least three weeks’ time should be given. After which some students started leaving but some remained adamant on the demand of canceling the examination.

Will raise voice in Delhi on 28th
AISA demanded to cancel the examination of leaked paper of RO/ARO and re-examination in a month. Manish Kumar said that on 28th, the youth of the state will raise their voice against paper leak and corruption in examinations in Delhi under Young India’s Chalo Delhi campaign.

Protestors took out a candle march
Alleging paper leak, competitive students protested with candles in their hands in front of the Commission Gate late at night. Said that the Chairman of the Commission was asked several times to come out for talks but he did not come.
