UPPSC Exam 2024: After allegations of paper leak in Review Officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Preliminary Examination-2023, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has started making arrangements for foolproof security of question papers. To protect the question papers from burglary, in future, there is a plan to keep the question papers in boxes with digital lock, so that the papers can be distributed to the candidates by opening the box at a fixed time.

According to sources, in the investigation so far into the allegations of paper leak, it has been revealed that the answer key of the paper allegedly went viral on WhatsApp at 8:41 am, before the commencement of the examination at 9:30 am on February 11. If the viral answer key is correct then it means that the paper of General Studies examination conducted in the first shift has come out from some examination center itself. Even before the Hindi exam held in the second shift, the answer key of the paper had reportedly gone viral and there is a possibility of it also coming out from the centre.

Actually, it is the responsibility of the district administration to send the question papers for the examination from the double lock of the treasury to the centres. After reaching the centres, the responsibility of opening the bundles of question papers and distributing them lies with the people posted at the centres. The paper bundle is made of cardboard and is packed in thick paper. There is a suspicion that anarchists may have taken out the paper by making a hole in it from one side, although this is yet to be confirmed in the investigation. In these circumstances, the Public Service Commission wants to ensure foolproof security of the question paper. Along with digital locked boxes, preparations are also underway to implement some other systems.
