UPPSC RO-ARO Exam 2024: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), which has been trying to improve its image since the formation of the BJP government in the state in 2017, suffered the second major setback in seven and a half years due to the cancellation of RO/ARO preliminary examination. Earlier, in the last days of the tenure of the Samajwadi Party government, the RO/ARO 2016 examination also had to be canceled due to paper leak. Due to paper leak, it took five years to complete the recruitment of RO/ARO 2016. That controversy came to an end with the declaration of the final results on April 5, 2021. 3,85,191 candidates were registered in the preliminary examination of RO/ARO-2016 held on 27 November 2016 at 827 centers in 21 districts. Former IPS Amitabh Thakur had lodged an FIR at Hazratganj police station after the paper went viral on WhatsApp from a center in Lucknow.

From TET to PCS exam has been canceled due to paper leak
Many major examinations have already been canceled due to paper leaks. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP-TET) held on 28 November 2021 had to be cancelled. On March 29, 2015, the paper of PCS Preliminary Exam 2015 was out from an examination center located in Alambagh, Lucknow. Initially the Commission had refused to let the paper out, but later due to pressure from the government level, only the examination of General Studies first question paper was canceled and the examination was conducted again on 10 May 2015.

On this demand of the students, the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government has announced the cancellation of the examination due to paper leak.
