Satvik Srivastava of Hardoi, who stood third in the merit list in the UPPSC 2023 exam, was so passionate about the PCS exam that he left his job as an engineer in the Railways to prepare for it. Satvik, the only son of Jagdish Srivastava, a document writer in the registry office, has passed this examination in the third attempt. To pass this exam, Satvik left his job in Railways and after studying, he passed the PCS exam. Hearing the news of Satvik passing the PCS exam and coming third, there was a wave of happiness among his family members, his relatives, neighbors etc. are reaching his house to congratulate him.

Satvik, the only child of Jagdish Srivastava and Chatria Srivastava, residents of Mohalla Nabi Purva in Hardoi city, was born on 30 December 1998 and his primary education was in Hardoi. In the year 2013, he passed the high school examination in St. After which, in the year 2016, he got admission in NIT Jaipur, from where he completed his engineering in the year 2020. When he gave UPPCS exam for the first time in 2021, he did not clear the prelims.

In May 2022, he was selected for the post of Junior Engineer in Railways. After which, after 14 days of training in Allahabad, he got posting in Banda district. On June 14, his UPPCS prelims exam was held. To focus on studies, he resigned from the railway job a week before the exam and started preparation. But this time also his pre-qualification did not take place. After which Satvik took it as a challenge because on one hand he had left a good job in Railways, on the other hand he could not pass the preliminary eligibility in the PCS examination. After which he changed both the method of study and study material. After which, he not only passed the preliminary examination of PCS held in the month of May 2023 but also qualified the mains and interview and got the third position in the result of the examination.

Satvik gives credit for his success to his mother, father as well as his mentor Ashutosh Srivastava. According to Satvik, even after failing to get Pre in PCS exam twice and leaving the job in Railways, his parents always told him to focus on his goal and he also maintained his strong determination, due to which he got Pre in the third attempt. After passing Mains and then Interview, he has made his family proud by getting third place in the state.
