The family of Vashishtha Narayan Pandey, living in Prayagraj Bailey Colony, turned from ordinary to special on Tuesday. Shortly after the result of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s PCS 2023 examination was released, the news of his son Prem Shankar Pandey getting second position in the state spread in the locality. People reached his house to congratulate him, although Prem was not at home. Vashishtha Narayan Pandey, who retired from the post of operator in UP Roadways in 2009, is originally a resident of Dhahi village of Patti tehsil of Pratapgarh.

With the aim of providing good education to his children, he came to Prayagraj with his wife Krishna Pandey and children. Vashishtha Narayan Pandey left no stone unturned in the education of all four children. Therefore, elder son Ram Shankar Pandey is currently a teacher in a council school. Secondly, Shyam Shankar Pandey is an area manager in a pharma company. Prem Shankar Pandey is in third place. Fourth son Dr. Abhishek Pandey runs a medical store.

Got the job right after intermediate
Vashishtha Narayan Pandey told that Prem was brilliant from the beginning. After completing Intermediate, he was recruited as Air Force Sergeant in 2002. Meanwhile, the student studied BA and MA from Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur. Resigned from the Air Force in 2020. In 2021, he was selected in Review Officer-Assistant Review Officer Recruitment. Got posted only a few months ago, currently he is working as Review Officer in the Secretariat located in Lucknow.

Success achieved by overcoming shortcomings
Prem’s dream was to become a PCS officer. After passing Mains in PCS 2022 examination, Prem appeared for interview, but could not be selected. Prem, overcoming his shortcomings of the first failure, not only achieved success in the second attempt but also registered his name at second place in the list of meritorious students of the state. In 2012, he married Shipra Pandey. Wife is a housewife. Daughter Manasvi is in class three.
