There is also a recruitment of Assistant Professor in the aided colleges of Uttar Pradesh which has not been completed in 16 years. Due to disputes at every stage of recruitment, there is no possibility of any quick resolution of the legal battle that has been going on for one and a half decade because on January 4, preparations are underway to challenge the appointment order of the single bench of the High Court in the double bench. Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Selection Commission had started recruitment against total 337 posts in 34 subjects under Advertisement No. 42 in 2008. Out of which the Higher Education Service Selection Commission finally selected 184 candidates in 21 subjects. After which the Director of Higher Education also gave it to 130 candidates. However, in the meantime, due to the stay order from the High Court in August 2010, the appointment of about 54 selected candidates remained in limbo.
Not only this, interviews for more than 140 posts in the remaining 13 subjects have not been conducted till date. Due to legal dispute, 130 assistant professors posted 14 years ago have not been confirmed yet. Despite the order from the High Court, these 54 selected candidates are wandering for appointment. The High Court ordered on January 4 that after giving appointment to such candidates, they should file the compliance report by February 29. But there is preparation to appeal against this order in the Division Bench.
what is the controversy
This entire advertisement released in 2008 during the BSP government was flawed. At that time, considering the state as one cadre, recruitment was done by adding all the vacant posts of Assistant Professor. All posts were reserved for OBC, SC and ST. There were petitions against this but till date the dispute has not been resolved.
