Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission will conduct Group ‘C’ examination in nine centers of the city on Sunday. At the same time, the center built in Haldwani for IIT’s Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) has been shifted to Bareilly. After the uproar in Haldwani, there is confusion among the youth regarding the examinations. UK SSSC had also fixed February 11 as the date for conducting the written examination for 133 posts of Livestock Extension Officer, Assistant Training Officer (Chemical Branch), Supervisor/Exhibitor (Silk), Inspector (Silk). Nine centers were created for this in Haldwani. But due to curfew in the city, there was doubt in the minds of the candidates regarding the conduct of the examination. Here, on Saturday, the Commission issued a letter telling the candidates that the examination will be conducted as per the pre-determined schedule in the examination centers set up in Haldwani. The Commission has said that all the candidates should carry the admit card and photo identity card. Nodal Officer of Examination PR Chauhan said that due to curfew and implementation of Section 144 in Haldwani, the candidates appearing in the examination centers will have the facility to travel through the admit card. This admit card will also be their curfew pass, upon showing which they will be able to go to the examination centre. A total of 4565 candidates are registered for the exam. In case of any inconvenience/problem, Additional District Magistrate can be contacted on numbers 9520581108 and 9411181108. The examination will be held in Khalsa National Girls Inter College, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur School, Mahatma Gandhi Inter College, Don Bosco, Evergreen and Gurukul International etc. ADM said that the center of the proposed GATE examination in the city has been shifted to Bareilly on Sunday itself. He has confirmed this by contacting IIT Roorkee. Additional buses were run on Saturday for the candidates.

On the other hand, Commission Chairman GS Martolia said that the Commission has decided to conduct the examination only on the basis of talks with the local administration and high officials of the government. The youth will be able to appear for the examination by showing their photo identity card along with the admit card. Anyway, there is no examination center in the affected area. Apart from this, examinations will also be held at 17 more examination centers in Dehradun.
