To end the game of mixing and editing of photos in recruitment examinations, the Staff Selection Commission has implemented the system of live photos in online applications. With the one time registration (OTR) being done afresh on the new SSC website www.ssc.gov.in, candidates will now have to upload live photo at the time of application. Earlier there was a rule that the photo of the candidates should not be more than three months old from the date of issue of recruitment notification, however the Commission did not have any system to find out whether the photo was taken within three months or older. Is.

Due to the number of applicants across the country being in lakhs, it was difficult to match all the photos. Taking advantage of this, many candidates used to tamper with the photographs and get solvers included in the examination in their place. In recent years, with the help of Artificial Intelligence, modern software, editing tools etc., photographs of two people were mixed to such an extent that it was difficult to identify and solvers used to appear in the examination under its guise.

how to take live photo
– Find a place with good lighting and a plain background.
– Before taking a photo, make sure the camera is at eye level.
– Position yourself directly in front of the webcam and look straight ahead.
– Candidates will not have to wear cap, mask or glasses while taking live photo.
– Staff Selection Commission implemented new system in the application
– Live photograph asked at the time of application on the new website

Despite the rejection of applications on the basis of a large number of photos at the Commission level, the game of mixing-editing of photos was not stopping completely. This can be gauged from the fact that out of approximately 12 lakh candidates registered from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in the Constable GD Examination 2024, which was going on from February 20 to March 7, the applications of more than eight and a half thousand were rejected on the basis of photographs. Earlier, out of 799504 candidates registered in the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havildar Examination 2023, held from September 1 to 14, 2023, about eight thousand applications were rejected.

Send photographs taken at every step to the employer
Photograph of the candidate is taken at every stage of the recruitment examination conducted by SSC. After selection, a collage is made and photos of each stage like Tier One, Tier Two etc. are sent to the employing department. In this entire process, candidates used to upload pre-taken photographs only at the time of application. This created difficulty in matching photos. According to Commission sources, to overcome this problem, the rule of live photo has been implemented at the time of application also.
