RRB ALP Notification 2024: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has invited applications for 5696 posts of Assistant Loco Pilot. Eligible candidates will be able to apply for this recruitment by visiting the website of the concerned RRB from January 20, 2024. The last date to apply is 19 February 2024. Before this recruitment, Railway Recruitment Board had recruited 64371 posts of ALP and Technician in the year 2018. Those candidates whose eyesight is very weak will not be able to apply for this recruitment. To apply, it will be necessary to have 6/6 distant vision and 0.6, 0.6 near vision without glasses. Read 5 special things about recruitment-

1. Recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot will be in these trades – Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wire Man, Tractor Mechanic, Armature Coil Winder, Mechanic Diesel, Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic

2. Qualification: 10th pass and ITI or 10th and three years engineering diploma in related trade.

3. In place of diploma, engineering degree in related trade will also be acceptable.

4. Age Limit – 18-30 years. SC and ST will get relaxation of five years and OBC will get three years.

The detailed selection process and exam pattern will be known after the release of the detailed notification.

5. Possibly this could be the selection process and exam pattern (based on the recruitment of year 2018)
– Probably the selection process will have these stages – 1. First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test), 2. Second Stage CBT, 3. Computer Based Aptitude Test and 4. Document Verification.

Two stage examination (First Stage CBT and Second Stage CBT) will be common for recruitment to ALP posts. Only the candidates successful in First Stage CBT will be called for Second Stage CBT. After passing the second stage CBT, you will have to give Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT).

There will be negative marking in both first and second stage. One third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There will be no negative marking in the Computer Based Aptitude Test.

1. First Stage CBT
The first stage computer based written examination will be of 1 hour in which 75 questions will be asked. To qualify the exam, unreserved category candidates will have to score 40%, OBC candidates will have to score 30%, SC will have to score 30% and ST candidates will have to score 25%. You will have to score minimum marks in this test otherwise you will be stopped here and cannot participate in the further process. In this you will be asked questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs.

2. Second Stage CBT
Candidates who qualify the first stage examination will be able to appear in the second stage. This exam will be of 2 hours 30 minutes. The paper will be divided into two parts. Part A and Part B.

Part A
You will get 90 minutes time for Part A and it will have 100 questions. To qualify this, unreserved category candidates will have to score 40%, OBC candidates will have to score 30%, SC will have to score 30% and ST candidates will have to score 25%. In Part A, questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs will be asked.

Part B
There will be 1 hour time to write Part B. The total number of questions in this will be 75. To qualify Part B, candidates of all categories must score 35% marks. Questions from trade syllabus will come in Part B.

3. Third step
Candidates who perform in Part A of the second stage and qualify in Part B will be called. In this phase, candidates of all categories will have to score at least 42 marks, there will be no relaxation of any kind.

4. The last step will be document verification.
