UP College News: In terms of affiliation of colleges and number of students, Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University (PRSU) has become the second top university of the state. 702 colleges of four districts of the division are affiliated with it. These also include 25 government and aided colleges. At present, around six lakh students are studying in different courses.

This university was established eight years ago on 17 June 2016. At present 373 colleges of Prayagraj, 171 of Pratapgarh, 79 of Fatehpur and 79 of Kaushambi are affiliated with it. This is the second university in the state to which such a large number of colleges are affiliated, that too when only four districts of Prayagraj division come under its jurisdiction. In this matter, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya is at the first place, to which 797 colleges including two government ones are affiliated. Colleges of eight districts Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Bahraich, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Gonda, Lucknow, Sultanpur are affiliated to this university.

692 colleges are affiliated to Meerut and 415 colleges are affiliated to Kashi Vidyapeeth.
Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut has 692 colleges affiliated from six districts (Meerut, Baghpat, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Buland City). Whereas, 415 colleges of five districts (Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, Chandauli) are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi. There are 587 colleges affiliated with Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.

Kanpur University was once on the first position
Student Sahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur was once on the first position in this matter. At that time maximum 950 colleges were affiliated with it. But the degree colleges of Hardoi, Sitapur, Rae Bareli and Lakhimpur were removed from Kanpur University and affiliated to Lucknow University. Due to this, approximately 400 colleges were reduced. At present only about five hundred colleges of Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Unnao and Etawah are connected to it.
