There is good news for the students doing regular research in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. According to the new research ordinance of DDU, now regular researchers will not have to leave their PhD if they get a job midway. They will be able to leave the regular option and do part time PhD. With this, not only will his job continue but his PhD will also be completed. The Executive Council of DDU has also given its final approval on this.

DDU has made comprehensive changes in its research ordinance keeping in view the guidelines of UGC and the provisions of NEP. Earlier, if a researcher got a job before the completion of his research, he had to choose between the job and his research. Researchers used to get stuck in the middle. Due to lack of any other option and a good job, many researchers used to abandon their research studies. Many students thought it better to leave their jobs.

PhD: Teachers will not be able to do PhD from low ranking institutions, preparations are also being made to recruit new assistant professors.

In such a situation, the demand to find a way out was rising for a long time. In view of this, this change has been made in the research ordinance. Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon said that in the new PhD ordinance, students doing regular research have been given facilities in terms of getting jobs. They will get the option to complete the research part time. Such researchers will now be able to complete their research part time while working.

The fifth issue of ‘Sahitya Vimarsh’, the monthly magazine of the English Department of Gorakhpur University, was released on Wednesday by Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon did it.
