NEET UG Counseling 2023: MBBS and BDS Seats added and removed from special stray vacancy round MCC

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has added 3 MBBS seats while removed 3 other MBBS and 1 BDS seats in the seat matrix of Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET UG Counseling 2023. Candidates can check the seats added and deleted before filling the choices on MCC website mcc.nic.in. “The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has received information from the following institutions for deletion/addition of the following seats in the seat matrix of the Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG Counseling 2023,” MCC said in the notice.

According to the notice, three management seats for MBBS have been added in Vinayak Mission Medical College and Hospital Puducherry, Sri Balaji Medical College and Hospital Chennai and Sri Siddhartha Medical College Karnataka. On the other hand, Government Dental College and Hospital Tamil Nadu has withdrawn one BDS seat of OBC category. Government Medical College, Alwar has removed one MBBS seat from OBC category. Apart from this, College of Nursing, RML has also withdrawn MBBS seats of open and OBC category.

MCC said, “The seats mentioned for withdrawal will be removed from the seat matrix of the Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG Counseling 2023 before seat processing and the seats with additions have been added to the seat matrix. Candidates can fill their choices as per the updated seat matrix.

More than 1000 MBBS seats vacant
It is noteworthy that even after four rounds of counselling, more than 1000 MBBS seats are still lying vacant in medical colleges. The National Medical Commission had fixed September 30 as the date for admission in MBBS. Now NMC has decided to fill the seats which have not been filled through a special stray round. The result of counseling for All India Quota seats in government colleges, central institutions and deemed universities will be out on November 7. State counseling will be held between 7th to 10th November, the last date to join it is 15th November.
