NEET: Record NEET UG application form in 2024 but MBBS seats are very less in India – NEET: So many forms came for NEET that last year’s strong record was also broken, but MBBS seats are very less, Education News

The number of applications for the medical entrance exam NEET has crossed 21 lakh. Tomorrow 9th March is the last date of application. Due to this pile of applications, the record of maximum number of applications for NEET made last year has been dashed. Last year, 20.87 lakh applications were received for NEET. Due to technical problems related to OTP during application and non-linking of Aadhaar-mobile number, many students are demanding extension of the last date of application from the National Testing Agency (NTA). Obviously the number of applicants will go up further. On the other hand, there are currently only 108940 MBBS seats in the country for record-breaking NEET candidates. Tamil Nadu has the maximum number of 74 medical colleges. However, Karnataka has the highest number of MBBS seats at 11745.

NEET exam will be conducted on 5th May 2024 while the result will be announced on 14th June 2024. Through NEET, admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and various other undergraduate medical courses is done in all the medical colleges of the country. Apart from this, candidates for Military Nursing Service (MNS) will also be able to take admission in B.Sc Nursing course of Armed Forces Medical Service Hospital through the marks of NEET UG exam.

Candidates are requesting to extend the last date
Students filling NEET form are facing problem in logging in with Aadhar card details. Students are not receiving verification OTP on email after logging in by entering Aadhar card number. It is being told that either the mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar or the mobile number linked to Aadhaar is not available. Due to lack of linking with Aadhaar mobile, students are demanding extension of the application period.
