Neeraj Sinha resigned from the post of Chairman of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) on Wednesday. He has said that he is leaving the post due to personal reasons. Let us tell you that on 15 September 2023, he was made the President of JSSC. Let us tell you that the controversy started in Jharkhand after the question paper of Paper Three was leaked in the JSSC CGL examination held on January 28. After this JSC had also canceled the examination. Along with the candidates, the opposition was demanding his resignation. At the same time, Chief Minister Champai Soren was also very angry about the paper leak, student agitation and delay in the results. SIT investigation is also going on on his instructions.

In this case, five people including the Under Secretary of Jharkhand Assembly have been arrested. Bihar connection has also been found in the investigation, after which the accused Rizwan is being searched. Earlier, the secretary in-charge of JSSC had lodged an FIR in Namkum police station on the paper leak issue. JSSC had written a letter to the Personnel Department and issued a public notice, denying the involvement of any officer-employee of the Commission in the paper leak.

Water Resources Department Secretary Prashant Kumar has been given the additional charge of the post of Chairman of JSSC. Along with his own duties, he will also look after the work of JSSC. He is also in charge of Finance Secretary.

Department under suspicion due to Neeraj’s resignation
On the resignation of JSSC President Neeraj Sinha, State President of All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Om Verma said that AJSU had launched a phased movement for this. There was a demand for a CBI inquiry into the JSSC CGL paper leak case and the resignation of the JSSC President. Here students are agitating regarding this demand. The department is under suspicion. JSSC President Neeraj Sinha has now resigned from the post citing personal reasons. All these things are a big question mark on the working style of the state government. The government is ignoring the anger of the students. The demand of lakhs of youth of the state including AJSU for a CBI investigation into this matter is still the same. This resignation cannot mislead the students. Neeraj Sinha’s resignation is an attempt to hide the root cause of this matter.

This resignation has also confirmed the wrong policies and indifferent attitude of the government towards the youth. This news is pointing towards the involvement of big white collar people in this matter. The government will have to immediately conduct an impartial investigation into the paper leak issue by the CBI. So that the culprits get the harshest punishment and justice can be done to the students.
