The state government can provide big relief to the candidates preparing for Jharkhand Civil Services Examination. According to sources, candidates may be given relaxation in the maximum age limit in the Civil Services Appointment Advertisement to be issued. The Civil Services Appointment Rules were recently approved by the Cabinet. It has been clarified that under the amended rules, the age of the candidates for Civil Services Examination should be minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years as on 1st August of the advertisement year.
Last time, the 7th to 10th Civil Services (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) examination was conducted simultaneously by JPSC. Then JPSC had fixed the maximum age limit for the examination in 2016. Now there is a fear that if the examination is conducted from the advertisement coming in the year 2024, then lakhs of candidates between 2020 and 2023 will be deprived of the examination. According to sources, considering the demand of the candidates and the actual situation, Hemant government is considering increasing the maximum age limit to the year 2020 or 2021. Preparations have been made to send a proposal to this effect to the Chief Minister from the Personnel Department.
After getting the approval of the Chief Minister, the approval of the Cabinet will be taken on the amendment of age limit in the Civil Services Rules. According to the sources of Personnel Department, JPSC is preparing to take three 11th, 12th and 13th civil services examinations this time also. The examination will be conducted for appointment to a total of 340 posts. More than 200 posts are expected to be appointed for administrative services.
