Delhi’s Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) is considering increasing its seats by about one thousand from the new session. Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Mahesh Verma said that we will increase the seats for admission in the courses for the session 2024-25. There are preparations to increase about one thousand seats. Starting new courses will also increase the number of seats. This seat increase will be in various courses run in the campus schools. He told that currently there are about 3300 seats, which will increase to 4400. Let us tell you that IPU is going to start the application process for admission from February 1st.
There will be 60-60 seats in the five-year course.
An IPU official said that there are about 90 seats for B.Tech Computer Science in the School of IT, which is being increased to 180. Similarly, more than 70 seats of B.Tech IT are being increased to about 120. There are going to be 70 to 120 seats in B.Tech Electronics. In MCA Software Engineering also, more than 70 seats are being increased to about 120. Similarly, two new courses are being introduced. These include B.Tech (CSE) Artificial Intelligence and B.Tech (CSE) Data Science. There will be 60-60 seats in both these courses.
Apart from this, there are preparations to increase more than 70 seats to about 120 in B.Tech Chemical Engineering of School of Chemical Technology. Similarly, seats in B.Tech Biotechnology will be increased from 40 to about 60. A new course of B.Sc. Environmental Science will be started in the university. It will have 60 seats. Apart from this, about 20 seats of MSc Environment Management are being increased to about 60. Similarly, under the five-year dual degree course, there will be 60-60-60 seats in B.Sc-MSc Physics, B.Sc-MSc Chemistry and B.Sc-MSc Maths.
BA-B.Ed and B.Sc-B.Ed courses will also start
The university is also preparing to conduct four-year BA-B.Ed, B.Com-B.Ed and B.Sc-B.Ed courses. There will be 50-50-50 seats in these three. Apart from this, about 120 seats will be available in BA-LLB by increasing from 80. There are preparations to start BBA and BCom courses with 60 seats each. In the management school here, about 30 seats in MBA Analytics are being increased to about 60. As a new course, MTech Food Technology will be started with 30 seats and BA Mass Media with 60 seats.
