Laghima Tiwari, an Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate from Delhi Technological University, has secured rank 19 in UPSC CSE 2022 in her first attempt. She hails from Alwar district of Rajasthan, but spent her early years in Delhi.

After completing her graduation in 2021, Laghima started preparing for UPSC. She wanted to pass the UPSC exam from the beginning, for which she had also made a plan. To strengthen his preparation he took help from YouTube. That is, during one year of UPSC preparation, he watched many interviews of toppers on YouTube and tried to understand their study pattern. After which he made strategies by following many tips of UPSC toppers. “It took me a year to prepare, in which I covered all the topics, basic GS and current affairs,” he had said in an interview.

Laghima Tiwari believes that consistency is the key to success. Sharing her UPSC preparation advice, Laghima said, “Even if candidates study for less hours, keep studying consistently every day. This strengthens the candidate’s studies. It should not happen that you study for 10-12 hours and do not study at all the next day. This is the wrong way to prepare. She advises that candidates should follow the plan made by them while preparing for UPSC.

Laghima studied Biology from class 9 to 12. In which he had chosen Ortho Apology as an optional subject for UPSC Main Examination. He had cleared the UPSC exam without any coaching, only with the help of test series and self study.

Laghima gave credit for her success to her parents. Let us tell you, she was the first woman in her family to make a career in civil services. She was clear about her career from the beginning and knew that she would prepare for UPSC in future.
