The application process for Common University Entrance Examination (CUET UG) 2024 for undergraduate courses in central universities is still going on. Eligible candidates can register till March 26, 2024. This is a national level examination, which is organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). After the registration is over, the examination will be conducted from 15th to 31st May. However, these dates are still temporary. These dates may be changed due to Lok Sabha elections. About which will be updated soon.

NTA has released frequently asked questions to provide transparency and clarity to the candidates. Let us know what changes NTA has made in the exam and what not.


Question- How many subjects can be chosen this time?

Whereas earlier students could choose 10 subjects for CUET UG, now the number of 10 subjects has been reduced to 6. Let us tell you, candidates can select subjects in languages ​​(Indian and foreign) and General Test. Note, candidates are advised to select at least one language.

Question: In how many slots will the exam be held?

Answer- The exam will be conducted over multiple days with 3 slots in a day.

Question-What will be the number of questions according to each subject?

Answer– 50 questions will be asked in all subjects including language, out of which 40 questions will have to be solved.

Question– Will the examination time be 45 minutes for each subject?

Answer- No, the exam time for each subject will not be 45 minutes. The exam time for Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science/Informatics Practice, Chemistry Mathematics/Applied Mathematics will be 60 minutes.

Question- What will be the medium of examination?

CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Question– In how many cities will the examination be conducted?

Answer-CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in 380 cities in the country and 26 cities outside India.

Question- Know- When will you get full 5 marks?

Answer–If any option is not found correct or any question is not found correct or it is wrong or any question is missed then all the candidates will be given five marks on solving the dropped question.

Question- In which format will the CUET UG exam be conducted?

Answer- From this year onwards CUET UG exam will be conducted in hybrid mode (Pen and Paper + CBT). This is going to be the first time that the examination will be conducted in hybrid mode. For subjects with high number of registrations in CUET UG application form this year, the examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) format, and for other subjects, the examination will be conducted computer based. After the completion of the registration process, NTA will decide which examinations will be conducted in pen and paper mode.

Question- These new subjects added in CUET UG exam

Answer- NTA has recently added two more courses to the CUET UG course, taking the total number of domain-specific subjects to 29. The two new subjects are Fashion Studies and Tourism. Students will be able to choose only six subjects out of 63, which includes 33 languages, 29 domain-specific subjects. Advises students to choose at least one language subject.
