The government will not pay honorarium to guest teachers and part-time teachers working in state universities. Universities will have to pay the dues of honorarium to the guest teachers and part-time teachers working there. The Education Department has asked the universities to pay the outstanding honorarium to guest teachers from the internal resources available with them. In this regard, Director of Higher Education Dr. Rekha Kumari has sent a letter to the Registrars of all the traditional universities of the state. The Education Department used to provide separate funds to the universities for payment of honorarium to guest teachers. The Education Department has also mentioned in the letter to the universities the amount available with them. According to the Education Department, an amount of more than Rs 16 billion 76 crore is available in 13 traditional universities of the state. These also include the amount of salary and pension of teachers and employees of universities. Universities have been instructed to pay guest teachers from this amount.

The Director of Higher Education has said in the letter that the university should pay the honorarium of guest teachers and part-time teachers from its internal resources and provide the information immediately. It has also been said that if the payment is not completed even after receiving the amount from internal sources, then inform the department about it. It may be noted that recently the Education Department had also said verbally in the meeting with the universities that adequate amount of money seems to be available with you.
