First of all, let us tell you, every year IES, ISS examination is organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). You cannot get this post without taking the exam.
These are the educational qualifications
Indian Economic Service (IES)- The candidate must have a post-graduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics and Econometrics. Please note that the candidate must have obtained the degree from a recognized university of the Central Government of India.
Indian Statistics Service (ISS)- The candidate must have post-graduation degree in Statistics, Mathematical, Statistics or Applied Statistics from any recognized institute.
For IES and ISS, the minimum age limit of the candidates should be 21 years and maximum age limit should be 30 years. At the same time, age relaxation of up to 5 years has been given to SC, ST or ex-serviceman candidates for the post of Commissioned Officer, 3 years for Defense Service candidates and 10 years for physically disabled.
Know- UPSC gives category wise opportunity to take exam so many times for IES and ISS.
General Category: You can appear for ISS or IES 6 times before the age of 30 years.
OBC Category: Candidates of this category can take the exam 9 times.
SC and ST Categories: There is no limit on the number of attempts to apply for IES and ISS post.
