This year, 1560 girl students will be enrolled in Class 6 in Other Backward Class Residential Plus-2 High Schools run under the Backward Class and Most Backward Class Welfare Department in Bihar. The department has invited applications from eligible girl students for this. In these, enrollment will be taken on 480 seats in Class 6 in the 11 already running residential schools, while enrollment will be taken on 1080 seats in Class 6 in the newly operated 27 residential schools. In this, girl students from backward and extremely backward classes of the state will be able to apply for enrollment. According to the department, separate nominations will be taken for 1080 seats in class 9th. The nomination process for these will also be conducted simultaneously.

Applications sought till 15th February
The enrollment process has started in these schools. Application forms can be submitted between January 15 and February 15. Examination and enrollment will be free. Admit cards will be issued for all vacant seats between 27th to 29th February. Applicants will be examined on March 2. The result of the examination will be published on March 11. The nomination process will be completed from March 13 to March 23. The education of all enrolled children will start from April 1, 2024.

Objective questions will be asked for nomination
Objective questions in the entrance examination will be of 100 marks. The exam will have to be given in two hours. Questions of 20 marks each will be asked from Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. The age limit for enrollment as on May 1, 2024 should be 10-13 years for class 6 and 13-15 years for class 9. The examination will be conducted only if more than 40 applications are received for class 9. For enrollment in these schools, the income of the parents or guardian of the applicant should be less than Rs 3 lakh per year. The application will have to be submitted in handwritten or typed copy to the office of District Backward and Most Backward Class Welfare Department.
