126 people have been arrested in the last three days for trying to crack the written examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board at 2385 centers for recruitment to 60,244 posts of constable in the police. These also include members of Solver Gang. This arrest was made in a joint operation of police and STF being conducted with the aim of maintaining the purity and sanctity of the examination. No irregularities have been reported anywhere in the examination. This examination will be held in two shifts on Sunday also.

DGP Prashant Kumar said that a total of 126 people have been arrested/detained from February 15 to 4.30 pm on February 17. A total of 100 people were arrested on Saturday, the first day of the examination, out of which maximum 15 people were arrested from Kotwali Nagar police station area of ​​Etah district on Saturday. Apart from this, nine people were arrested from Jhunsi police station area of ​​Prayagraj and seven from Kandhrapur of Azamgarh. Earlier on February 16, eight people were arrested from Nonhara police station area of ​​Ghazipur and six people were arrested from Kotwali Nagar and Kopaganj police station area of ​​Mau district. On February 16, two people each were arrested in a joint operation by Varanasi Commissionerate and Agra Commissionerate with STF. On Saturday, Hathras police along with STF arrested three people from Kotwali Nagar police station area and Kanpur Commissionerate and STF arrested two people from Hanumant Vihar police station area. Firozabad district police arrested four people from North police station area and Jaunpur police arrested five people from Kotwali police station area. According to Recruitment Board Chairperson Renuka Mishra, Static Magistrate has been deployed at every examination centre. Entry into the examination center was given to all the candidates only after monitoring through CCTV cameras and biometric verification.

STF broke the back of solver gang
Various units of STF arrested 26 people on Saturday, the first day of constable recruitment examination, breaking the back of the solver gang. Apart from the gang members and thugs who try to get the papers out by charging huge sums of money from the candidates, employ solvers in the examination and make attempts to cheat through other means, the examinees are also included.

STF Lucknow’s DSP Lal Pratap Singh’s team arrested Kuldeep Verma, the gang leader who cheated the candidates. He is a resident of Indira Nagar, Lucknow. Admit cards of 29 candidates, educational certificates of 13 candidates and three check books were recovered from his possession. This gang had made a deal with about 50 candidates for about Rs 10 lakh each.

UP DGP Prashant Kumar said that the constable recruitment examination of the first day was conducted in an atmosphere of peace and cleanliness at all the centres. All senior police and administrative officers kept visiting the examination centres.
